We claimed Night Officer who dropped into the claiming ranks for the first time on July 14. He had raced in the Mid-Atlantic circuit prior to his Belmont win. On the day we claimed him he won in 1:07.84 at six furlongs and has yet to be off the board since racing on the turf. He has compiled a record on the grass of 6-2-1-3. Overall he’s 19-4-2-4, while earning over $140,000 in his young career. Bruce Brown is training him in New York.
We recently purchased a Birdstone colt in the OBS two year-old in training sale on April 22, 2013. He breezed a ¼ mile in 22 flat and did everything correctly. Birdstone has sired six crops of racing age and have earned over $11 million. And, being out of a Deputy Minister mare, this colt has a license to run all day. We are also excited about the black type the second dam has produced.
In June we purchased this NY bred colt at the Ocala sale. The sire has produced 120 winners of 321 races while earning nearly $7,000,000. The dam raced 51 times and was in the money 66%. We like his conformation and he also a nice demeanor about him. He is already in race training with Bruce Brown.
In the October, 2012 Mid-Atlantic yearling sale we purchased a New York bred Freud colt. Freud is one of New York’s most popular sires, and his foals have exceeded well over $22 million in earnings. His dam, Trippi’s Dream, won five times in twenty-three career starts. Her only other foal, a 3-year-old in 2013, owns a 4 -1-1-1 record.
This beautiful bay filly is from the 2008 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Champion and American Champion two-year-old, Midshipman. Sire of 13 Black Type winners, including Lady Shipman and Dearest, Midshipman managed to earn over 1.5 million dollars during his brief but prodigious career.
Her dam, Queen of Valentine, has produced five siblings, all winners. The New York-bred filly is being prepared at the Classic Mile Complex in Ocala, Florida.
