The newest addition to Chalk Racing arrived in New York on March 1 with a promising pedigree and exciting future. The biggest reason for enthusiasm is the colt’s “super” sire, Super Saver, winner of the 2010 Kentucky Derby and the leading first-crop sire by North American earnings. His dam is no slouch either, setting a course record as a three-year-old at Monmouth Park in 2011. His second dam, though unraced, was a half-sister to Grade I winner, Lady of Shamrock, winner of $950,400 during her lifetime and a half-sister to Grade II winner, Smooth Jazz ($321,105 in earnings).
