Night Officer Victorious in Debut

In a race that felt like a prize fight down the stretch, Night Officer, our courageous 7-year-old gelding making his first start of the year, emerged victorious. Like all great boxing matches, this one went to the judges. Bumped three times and pushed off stride trying to pass the leader nearing the wire, Night Officer was declared the winner by disqualification after initially fallling short by just a nose. Night Officer rallied from last place in the 6 furlong turf affair and, despite getting beat up down the stretch, still managed to run the final eighth of a mile in just over 11 seconds.
